Berkeley boasts low crime rates and a high a standard of living for its residents. Although its primarily known as a college town, there is a considerable amount of seniors in the area (16% of the population). This east bay city is consistently ranked as one of the most educated populations in the country and UC Berkeley is even recognized as a national landmark and institution. The culture is well known for its liberal attitudes, environmental activism, and diversity. With close access to San Francisco proper, Berkeley residents enjoy a quieter, more intimate lifestyle without sacrificing the perks of city life.

Traffic can be extremely congested with Berkeley's high population which is my many opt for public transit. With three BART stations and a multitude of ground transportation options, there are plenty of ways to skip the traffic and make your commute smarter.
